Once again I have been very naughty with updating our blog page, so much has been going on it's always hard to know where to start, The new shop extension is now in full swing and looks fabulous ( thanks to Kelly for all her hard work with the paintbrush ! ) Hollee has been busy with her camcorder and produced a little video for us on YouTube ( thanks Hollee x ) Poor thing, we will be calling on her talents again with the new extension.

We are delighted to have been asked once again to supply products for a new makeover show for ITV, very exciting, we will announce further details on release of the show.

Domestic Goddess

Now I will be the first to admit my attempts on the Domestic Goddess front dont usually last too long, I have mad bursts at attempting perfection then slip back into doing what needs doing at 100 miles an hour !

I have marvelled at Anthea Turner turning a guest towel into a turtle shape ( has to be seen to be believed ) and really come to the conclusion that there must be more to life than scaring guests with a white fluffy turtle on the guest bed.

However..............a new arrival to the shop has sent me into a frenzy of Nigellaness, wait for it.......Rose shaped cake molds, well,,,,,,thats me gone, anything Roses plus the fact that they are pink !

I am usually a cupcake fanatic, but cant wait to try these babies out.

Chic.........We try our best

Firstly apologies for not keeping up to our Chit Chat, things have been hectic in the shop, new stock arriving daily, a new re-furb in the planning, we are extending the shop to include a new furniture showroom, although with the best will in the world it wont hold the hundreds and hundreds of furniture items available on the website, we would need the size of Harrods for that ! It will hopefully bring more variety to our current furniture stocks allowing for greater choice when shopping. The only problem with the new extension is it allows us more space in the front of the shop for even more accesories........yipee more shopping for me to do ! How I love buying for the shop, resisting taking every new item home is a nightmare ! Here are a few peices that found their way to my house.

Once again my darling daughters have been as supportive as ever, Kelly with her fabulous organisational skills, keeping the online orders and stock contol up to speed, plus supplying the most fabulous mozzarella basil and tomato baguettes this side Italy, and Hollee who has just celebrated her sweet sixteenth has put her video camera to good use and provided us with a surprise video clip of the shop on You Tube, brilliant !

Bank Holiday weekend is now at an end and as usual the shop was as busy as ever, we are so lucky to have such fantastic customers, your support is fantastic.....thank you.

JANUARY SALE TIME

What a strange month January is, I am always sad at the end of Christmas as I would like it to last forever.

January always brings feelings of fresh starts and new beginnings, as always the shop sale starts, ready to make space for the new season items. I must admit I do enjoy this part, the poor shop looks a mess for a few weeks while the sale is on, and then gets a whole new fresh face as new stock starts to arrive, usually tempting me to take new things home !

Kimmidoll heaven

If you have not come across Kimmidolls before be warned ! these little angels are addictive !

They arrived in the shop in time for Christmas and have caused the biggest stir ever, they are the latest craze among the girlies and are extremely popular for attaching to school bags ( so we have been informed ) by the happy Mum that bought 12 in one go, they are all different with different meanings to their names..........simply darling. we have a selection of 12 designs and have included them on the website as well as in store.

The shop has undergone major changes with our move to bigger premises, we are still in the same spot just in a larger building, which has been great as it means we can fill the space with even more goodies. The website has been updated witha few more Christams gifts, Yes there is still time, and we have placed a pre Christmas sale on most furniture ranges.

here are a few of the new online gifts, the shop has so many items it would be impossible to place them all on the web, so if you can vist us, it's well worth it.

A Dogs Life !

I fully admit to spoiling my little dog, but even I am the first to admit that it is now beyond a joke !

She has this fabulous bed in the lounge, another similar one in the dining room and yet another in the kitchen, but will she stay in them ?Only when she is in the mood or very sleepy at other times

she has to sit on or next to you, and lo betide you if you happen to be enjoying a TV programme and not quite paying her enough attention, she literally walks on you shoving her small hairy face into your line of view as if to say * I'm here, LOVE ME* talk about pushy! Poppy is a true Diva and to be honest I wouldn't have her any other way.

Katie Price & Peter Andre

Although not new to Surrey, Katie & Peter have apparently caused a bit of a stir in our tiny part of it, My daughter tells me that a group of mums in the small village school where she lives were very excited at the news of the new celeb neighbours.

I love this picture of the family, as from watching the show you really get a deep feeling that it is all about *family* with these two, which is lovely.

Here's wishing them lots of fun and giggles in their new home.

Two sides of Spain

This week we are busy organising Euros and suitcases, my children are both off to Spain on completely different visits, My Son is doing his first teenage boy visit to the beaches, bars and clubs ( aspirin packed ) and my Daughter is off to Barcelona on a culture trip desperate for the Dali museum, as you have probably gathered they are complete opposites, both gorgeous and equally excited but for different reasons.

The shop has been interesting this week, with a huge delivery off to it's new French home in Nice, I just love it when french style furniture ends up in France and one of our tables off to the TV studios to appear in a daily Soap, details to follow as we cannot give away the story line !

More furniture on it's way to ITV 60 minute makeover for another future show.

The sun has been glorious this week which just makes the world seem a better place.

Who Let The Pigs Out ?

I decided to tackle the gardening this week only to discover that a dastardly fiend ( for want of a better word ! ) has stolen my pigs ........ not real pigs but my gorgeous life sized ornamental saddle backs that were a gift from my daughter some 12 years ago, the happy piggy family lived in the garden for years in a very secluded little nook, they have been snowed on rained on and climbed on by my children and latterly my little grandaughter, I am heartbroken. On searching the Internet to try and find a replacement I discovered that the exact same pigs had been stolen from a family garden in Blackpool, many miles from us but I am now wondering if there is porky conspiracy out there ?

Apart from gardening and sobbing over missing piggy's work this week has been brilliant, I have gone all summery and added some fab garden furniture to the website which I couldn't resist in my gardening madness, We have had the most wonderful customers through the door as always with fabulous stories from one lady rushing to buy last minute furniture for a photo shoot taking place the same afternoon ! she is to be featured on an episode of *Locate to the country*.

Another who had had a mad fit an thrown half of her house contents away having been inspired by a magazine article and decided to go Parisienne Chic.

But the best has to be the lady that resides in Saudi Arabia determined to carry various Venetian mirror items in her hand luggage !

It is one of the joys of this little shop, the people and the stories, no two days are ever the same and no day is ever boring.

Another Week

I cant believe how fast this week has flown, must be age or something but the weeks just seem to fly by nowdays, either that or the week I have spent doing battle with an new email system has aged me by ten years ! It's still not working, but being like a dog with a bone I wont let it beat me.
Again we have been adding new items to the ever growing ranges on our website I am particularly in Love with the new Fayence Range and have added more things to this.

This week our Chateau Coffee table was featured in Ideal Home magazine. This is always a joy, as I love to see the shop in print.

The dog is snoring next to me on the sofa, and I have my friend on loudspeaker the phone, talk about multi-tasking!

Am desperately looking forward to a cinema trip this week to see Sex in The City, all those shoes and Clothes, a double edge sword though as it will remind me of a fabulous shopping trip we had in New York for last Christmas, I will want to go all over again I'm sure..........never mind keep on working Lyn you never know :)

Summer Feeling

One of the many joys of my job has to be introducing brand new ranges to our constantly growing collection, The Already popular Fayence range now comes in a stunning Antique white paint finish, the range features both dining and bedroom furniture in beautiful simple clean lines, while still retaining its *French* feel. while the range is new to the website this weekend we have already started to take pre orders through the shop, deliveries on this new range will be approx 6-8 weeks, (a small price to pay ) for the pleasure of a new room. :)

This weekend has been a delight, the weather has been kind to us and the shop has been buzzing with a happy cheerful atmosphere, everyone seems to be in a Summer mood and re- decorating has been the theme of all our conversations, from customers completely furnishing bedrooms to others doing bathrooms and picking cheerful accessories. We had lots of people through the door carrying baskets full of bedding plants from the garden centre ( we are in the grounds of the Village garden centre ) This for me is a double edged sword, while I love seeing the baskets full of colour, the guilt from not getting around to doing my own hanging baskets so far this year is a Killer............ something else for my *To Do* List.
